About the role We’re looking for a part-time Software Engineer who is genuinely excited about AI and the new ways of building software. At Lima Point, we don’t just want someone who writes clean code — we want someone who experiments, questions the old ways of working, and helps us discover better, faster, and more creative approaches to software development. You’ll work closely with the team to design, build and ship real products while exploring AI-assisted development (“vibe coding”), agentic workflows, and other emerging practices. This is a flexible part-time role ideal for someone who wants meaningful technical ownership without the full-time grind. What you’ll do Design, build and ship software using modern languages and frameworks Actively experiment with AI coding tools, agents and workflows to accelerate development and improve quality Write clean, well-structured, well-documented code and help raise the team’s standards Collaborate with product, design and engineering to turn ideas into working software Debug, optimise and improve systems with a focus on reliability and maintainability Participate in code reviews and technical discussions — share what you’re learning about AI-assisted development Help shape our engineering practices: architecture, tooling, testing and how we work with AI Stay curious about new techniques and bring fresh ideas to the team What we’re looking for Solid proficiency in one or more of: Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, Java, Go, or similar Strong fundamentals: clean code, design patterns, testing, Git, and software design Genuine passion for AI and modern development practices (you already use AI tools daily or are deeply curious about them) Experience or strong interest in “vibe coding” / AI-assisted development, agentic workflows, or rapid prototyping with LLMs Comfortable working in an Agile environment and collaborating with non-engineers Good communication skills and a collaborative mindset Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / related field or equivalent practical experience Nice to have Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) API design & integration Docker / Kubernetes Building internal tools or developer experience improvements Previous experimentation with AI coding agents, Cursor, Windsurf, Claude Code, Aider, etc. Why this role might be interesting You’ll have real influence on how we build software. We’re actively looking for people who want to rethink traditional development processes with AI — not just bolt a chatbot onto the same old patterns. If you enjoy experimenting with AI-assisted coding, agentic workflows, and new ways of shipping software, this is a place where those ideas can actually shape the way the team works. What we offer Flexible part-time hours that respect your life outside work A small, collaborative team where your ideas on AI and development practices will be heard and tested Freedom (and encouragement) to experiment with modern AI coding tools and workflows Opportunities to grow your skills in AI-native development, not just traditional software engineering A culture that values curiosity, clean code, and continuous improvement over process for its own sake About us Lima Point is an AI-native technology company building software in new ways. We believe the biggest gains in software development will come from rethinking how we work with AI, not just writing more code the traditional way. Our team values technical excellence, practical experimentation, and clear communication. We’re still small and growing, which means the engineers who join us now will help define how we build products going forward. Apply now If you’re a software engineer who is excited about AI and modern development practices, and you’re looking for a flexible part-time role where you can help shape how software is built, we’d like to hear from you. Please send: Your CV A short note on why this role interests you (especially any experience or experiments with AI coding tools / vibe coding) Links to GitHub, portfolio, or relevant work We look forward to talking with you.
