We seek an experienced OS Kernel Engineer for our core systems team. Candidates need deep low-level systems programming expertise and extensive hands-on experience developing, debugging, and optimizing kernel software on Unix-like OSes (Linux, FreeBSD, or custom kernels). You’ll design and implement critical subsystems: memory management, process scheduling, IPC, device drivers, filesystems, and real-time extensions. Proficiency in C is mandatory; x86-64/ARM64 assembly knowledge for performance tuning and boot optimization is preferred. Must have production-deployed kernel modules or upstream-accepted patches (e.g., Linux kernel mailing list contributions), and mastery of ftrace, perf, kgdb, and eBPF for concurrency, synchronization, and race condition analysis. Experience with LSM, SELinux/AppArmor, secure boot, and attack surface reduction is required. Hardware-software co-design knowledge—PCIe, MMIO, interrupts, DMA, KVM/Xen—is essential.
